Search Engine Optimisation

What is it?

Search Engine Optimisation is the process of optimising a website to ensure maximum exposure in the search engines.

This is done through a series of different techniques. These include: creating, building backlinks, integrating social media and improving the general performance and accessibility of a website.

Why is it important?

If you want customers to find you online, then your online presence needs to be constantly monitored, updated and expanded.

Search engines are always looking for websites where care has been taken with the quality of content, its ease of reading, its relevance. They also assess how easy it for the user to access the content, on whatever device they choose to view it on.

Are you doing enough?

If you don’t currently have a search engine optimisation plan in place and you aren’t actively working on creating fresh and relevant content on a regular basis, then no you’re not!

We can work with you to provide a tailored SEO plan for your website. Start today by contacting us at hello@dzined.uk so we can take a look at your site and its current position in the results.

What is a SERP?

Dzined SEOA SERP is a Search Engine Results Page. When you search for something online (say in Google), the page that shows the results is a SERP.

Often there are at least 10 results per page (and multiple pages). How high your websites appear in the results, depends on how relevant the search engine thinks your site is to the search.

For example, if your website sells Apples, and your potential customer types in “Oranges” in the search engine, its unlikely you’ll appear because you don’t sell Oranges, so, you’re not relevant. However, if you have a page on your site explains that you do sell Oranges, you may appear somewhere in the SERPs.

How high up you appear is a different question.!Where you appear depends on many factors like; how old is your website address, how much content there is about oranges on your website and is the content well written and relevant? Do other websites and people on Social Media talk about your oranges? Are you popular for selling oranges? How many other people sell oranges online? Are they closer to the location of the person searching? And so on…It gets quick a bit more technical than that, but it should give you an idea.

Does it matter?

It all depends, whether you want an extra slice of the ever famous ‘pie’. Even if you think you have enough business now, it’s impossible to tell whether you will in 6 months time. Economies change, laws change, funding changes, prices increase and sometimes your customer base may need to change with it. Search engine optimisation doesn’t have instant results, it takes time (often months).

Is SEO expensive?

For a relatively low investment you can start sowing the seeds now to put you in a good position for the future. Search engine optimisation can be very cost effective with the right plan ensuring your spend is effective.

If you already have pie and want more pie, then you need to keep working on your website (or get someone like us to do it for you). We can provide packages tailored to increasing your revenue and traffic, all to suit your budget.
